Role-related training: Implementing
The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is one of the leading providers of CBT-CP for individuals with chronic pain. The VHA developed a therapist manual for CBT-CP among veterans that includes an educational overview of chronic pain, treatment options and case examples, a manual for conducting 11 core CBT-CP sessions and one optional booster session. This manual is widely disseminated across the Veterans Health Administration. It serves as the basis of a system-wide CBT-CP training program, including multi-day educational workshops followed by 6 months of individual consultation with expert trainers.
